Here’s a schedule of the words (the images are in dXing Space…):
Undulations - a poem by Parz
Grey steely clouds relent from lashing sea Wind-blown spray coats with salty brine Oceanic undulations tossed the sloop mercilessly Warm streaming rays calm restless rhythms Where a watery grave seemed certain It floats twixt watery depths and clearing skies Ensconced, safely held deep within She sleeps desperately, recovering Gentle undulations the only movement Limbs akimbo, exhaustedly thrown, unmoving Where Death had prowled the deck hungrily The Sandman stands guard at her bedside The rise and fall of looming walls of water Arrivals and departures of meteorologic events Tossings and turnings of hapless watercraft All part of an undulating Whole. Time’s Great Wheel, inexorably spinning The half-drowned figure allowed to wake
Did You Know That…?
…Poetry (and, in fact, all Creativity) can help us Solve Daily Challenges!
April in the United States is National Poetry Month (started in 1996 by the Academy of American Poets). Because April is now associated with poetry, the remaining eleven months of the year get short poetry shrift. A recent article in Psychology Today argues that poetry should be enjoyed all year long as a way to break out of conventional thinking.
We at dX think that it’s not just reading poetry that allows readers to break out of old thought patterns, but the experiencing of creativity in all its aspects that gives rise to inspirations, new ideas, and different thought patterns.
When you experience someone’s art, do so mindfully. Take a moment, let it sink in, and let it inspire you in your next piece!
Get to know a Snoopervisor!
Dr. Matt coined a term - snoopervisor - which is an animal that feels the need to insert itself into whatever it is you happen to be doing at the time to make sure you’re doing it right!
Meet Bhakti - (oversees Aleesha and Parz)
Bhakti is a Sanskrit word that means “Devotion”. For Aleesha and Parz’s cat, it means devotion to his favourite things: food, pets and scrunches (but not cuddles), food, air conditioning, food, and his absolute favourite - food.
Bhakti is the Watcher of the Stairs - who knows what lurks at the top (or bottom) of them?
You can most commonly find Bhakti laying in front of the refrigerator - if anyone is going to open it, he’s going to ask for a royalty.
