Planting seeds, ugly phases, a trip to Venice, Stan's moustache, and some wonky lines.
This week's inspiring creative classes!!!
We’ve had another fantastic week at dX filled with inspiring classes, all of which are now available in the recordings section:
Dr Matt Schwartz’s mindful art empowerment class was inspired by spring and after a guided 15 minute meditation, focused on creating an illustrated garden by planting metaphorical seeds and setting intentions for what we’d like to accomplish or grow this summer.
Joan Martin’s second class followed on from her first class last week, adding more layers to an experimental portrait and showing how she works through the ‘ugly phase’ I’m sure we’re all familiar with in our work.
Jedidiah Dore headed to Venice and focused on the solid drawing foundations that can enhance and improve your urban sketching, and teaches about key design elements to drawing and simplifying those ideas to create interesting sketches.
Helen LP found a wonderful photo of a man named Stan with a fantastic moustache, which inspired this weeks portrait class, using Copics and coloured markers.
Woohoo! Another classic Aleesha Sattva tangles class. Aleesha teaches three different tangles, with a couple of calming mindful pauses added in.
A favourite quote from the week:
“So If I have to choose a perfect line over a wonky line, I’ll take a wonky line any day.” ~ Aleesha
