The Many Ways to Experience dX!
We at dX believe that Art For All isn’t just a pithy saying - it’s a goal we strive to achieve. In pursuit of that goal, we provide three ways of experiencing the content we produce (all of which are either free or available for as little as $1):
YouTube
We’re expanding our YouTube presence by dropping select videos from our dX Recordings library per week, plus Parz is going live on YouTube every other Wednesday at 9pm Eastern Time (currently set to start June 12). It’s easy to subscribe (click the button below to make it happen) and then you’re set! Come watch! Hang out! Follow along!
dX Recordings
Every week dX Live presents several classes from top instructors! But did you miss a class you wanted to attend? Want to rewatch that technique Helen did in her class? Didn’t understand the first time around what Joan was mixing up?
Sign up for dX Recordings and get access to all the recorded content from dX Live from the past three months, plus get early access to videos from Aleesha and Dr. Matt (whose classes are only recorded) and other bonus content.
You only pay what you feel is fair and affordable, even if that is only $1/mo.

dX Live
Like we said above, every week we offer several classes live with top instructors (see below for the exciting news about Jed!). Do you want to participate in a live class setting? Would you like immediate feedback from instructors and fellow students?
The best part? You only pay what you feel is fair and affordable, even if that is only $1/mo (and if that’s not affordable, please let us know).

Here’s our current schedule:
Want Some Art Made By Jed?
Then buy a set of 12 Inktense Blocks from Derwent!
Not only is Jedidiah Dore a fabulous artist and a Derwent ambassador (here’s his bio from when he was featured by Derwent), but his art is now what you see on the cover of the 12 set of Derwent Inktense Blocks!
If you aren’t already subscribed to dX Live (to be in the Zoom room with him as he teaches his classes) or dX Recordings (if you want to watch his classes on demand), consider joining!
Get to know a Snoopervisor!
Dr. Matt coined a term - snoopervisor - which is an animal that feels the need to insert itself into whatever it is you happen to be doing at the time to make sure you’re doing it right!
Meet Frankie - (oversees Carissa)
Frankie (aka Sausage) is everything you’d ever want in an off-grid sock-burying food-loving family matriarch. She is ready for any adventure whether it be on land or water (and will, when her humans get tired, take the wheel for a spell).
In the rare hours she has free from supervising Carissa’s work with dX and having her life (and everyone else’s in the family) documented weekly on her YouTube channel, Frankie Off Grid, she finds time to catch a nap here and there - sometimes solo and other times as leader of the Sleep Pack (cats happily included).
Wear the Fleece?
Story by Parz, Illustration by Carissa
A cryptic message in an ancient text. A company of heroes seeking fame and fortune. Long dark roads and deadly peril. A sole survivor...
Thiormond Thunderbum spied his prize. In the top room of the tallest tower of a wizard’s castle lay the Fleece of Transformation upon the Turtle Shell of Ultimate Wisdom. And it was his for the taking. Murmuring the oft repeated message, he came to the line “Wear the Fleece”. Wrapping the fleece around his broad shoulders, he envisioned glory for his accomplishment. Dreaming turned to panicked bleating with a last thought “Was it ‘Ware the Fleece?’”
Did You Know…?
…To Feel Less Overwhelm, Learn to Forget
Have you ever seen a balancing act where a performer takes a plate, sets it atop a stick, and sets it spinning? And then more and more plates are set spinning on top of their own sticks? It takes effort to keep each plate spinning; watch the face of the performer who runs from plate to plate to keep each one going.
According to a recent article in Psychology Today, this is called the Zeigarnik Effect - the hardwiring in our brains that focuses us far more on things that are unfinished (plates spinning) than things finished. It’s part of the reason why we can feel so overwhelmed and what keeps us up at night.
What to do? There’s always things that need doing and the list always seems to grow - more and more plates to keep spinning. The answer, and it may seem counterintuitive, is to keep a list of tasks so that you don’t lose track of what you want to do at some point. And then stop trying to remember them.
Instead, go to your to do list on a daily or weekly basis and find the highest-priority tasks (the article suggests no more than three) that will move your life in the direction you want it to go. Keeping far fewer plates spinning keeps you more rested, less overwhelmed, and better able to complete tasks.
As for the rest of the items on the list? Forget them for now. Remember, the real purpose of a to do list isn’t to serve as a remember of all the things you want to accomplish but instead it’s to allow you to forget them for the time being.
